Event Description:
As we are walking within a National Park no dogs are allowed. Our meeting point is the car park in Hardinge Park, Hardinge Road Orange Grove. There are toilets and barbecues within this area.
We will proceed past the Bickley Reservoir and Bickley Outdoor Recreation Camp and on to the Mason & Bird Heritage Trail.
Highlights of this walk include:
1. Munday Brook Bridge believed to be Australia’s oldest bridge.
2. Beautiful forest area as we slowly ascend the hill.
3. Discover 3 tragic events which have all occurred along our journey and one will be still be visible today.
4. We reach Victoria Dam which was built in 1891 and was the first permanent water supply for Perth city.
5. We see both the new dam wall and part of the old dam wall.
6. Lunch will be at Victoria Dam.
As usual bring plenty of water, sun and rain protection and something warm to wear, a picnic lunch and optional snacks.  If you’re not a member, it’s $5 for insurance fee.
